Walk without that first-step pain — from day one.
Without pricey custom orthotics, another doctor visit, or giving up the shoes you love. Contoured arch support that takes the strain off your feet the moment you stand up.
- Firm arch support that holds you up — not another flat gel pad
- Eases the sharp ache of those first morning steps
- Trim once, fits your sneakers, work shoes, and boots
Why the first few steps hurt the most
It’s not random, and it’s not just “getting older.” There’s a specific reason — and once you see it, the fix makes sense.
The tissue tightens
The band of tissue along the bottom of your foot draws tight while you rest through the night.
Your weight lands on it
With nothing holding the arch up, that first step drops your full weight onto the tightened tissue — and it pulls.
The arch is supported
A firm contoured arch lifts and supports, so your weight is spread out instead of yanking on one tight band.
Ordinary gel inserts add a soft pillow on top — but they never support the arch itself, so the strain just keeps happening. Support is what changes the morning.
Cushion sits on top. Support works underneath.
All pillow, no structure
- Add cushioning but leave the arch unsupported
- Flatten out under your weight within weeks
- Never change what happens on that first step
- Feel nice for a minute, then it’s back
Structure where it counts
- Firm contoured arch that actually holds you up
- Deep heel cup that keeps the foot aligned
- Cushioning layer that absorbs each step
- Built to keep supporting you all day long
I got tired of being told it was “just getting older.”
Every appointment ended the same way: a shrug, and “it’s wear and tear, learn to live with it.” I bought the soft gel inserts. I bought bigger shoes. Nothing held — because none of it actually supported my arch.
So I stopped waiting for permission and worked with a footwear maker to build the thing I actually needed: real, firm arch support with a deep heel cup and everyday cushioning. The first morning I didn’t brace for that first step, I knew. Groundwear is that insole — and it’s the reason I’m back on my evening walks.

Four things working together under your foot
Contoured arch shell
A firm, shaped arch that supports the foot instead of letting it collapse — taking the pull off that tight band of tissue.
Deep heel cup
Cradles the heel and keeps your foot aligned as you land, step after step, so nothing shifts out of place.
Cushioning EVA layer
Absorbs the shock of each step for all-day comfort — without the flat, worn-out feeling of soft-only inserts.
Trim-to-fit top cover
A breathable, moisture-wicking cover you can trim to size, so one pair fits your sneakers, work shoes, or boots.
Keep a pair in every shoe you wear
Most people find they want a pair in each pair of shoes — so switching footwear never means going back to sore feet.

Shop with confidenceQuestions, answered
Will they fit my shoes?
Yes. Groundwear comes slightly long so you can trim the front to match your shoe size — just use your current insole as a guide. One pair works in sneakers, walking shoes, and most work shoes or boots.
Do I take my old insole out first?
If your shoe’s existing insole is removable, take it out and drop Groundwear in its place. In roomier shoes and boots you can often leave the original in and lay Groundwear on top.
How long until they feel right?
Firmer arch support can feel new for the first few days — that’s normal. We suggest wearing them a few hours a day at first, then building up to all day over about a week as your feet adjust.
How many pairs should I get?
Most people go with two — one for their everyday shoes and one for a second pair — so changing shoes never means going back to sore feet. If you’re only outfitting one pair of shoes, a single set is a fine place to start.
What if they don’t work for me?
Then you don’t pay for them. Wear them for 30 days, and if your feet aren’t more comfortable, contact us for a full refund.
Getting older doesn’t have to mean sore feet.
Give your arches the support they’ve been missing — and get back the walks, the errands, and the days that foot pain quietly took.
